Car Insurance Jaguar (Car Insurance). Squealing noise on 1999 Mitsubishi Galant VR4?

Squealing noise on 1999 Mitsubishi Galant VR4? Hey my Galant has an annoying squeal it makes when i do a full lock, I'm guessing my power steering belt is loose, but i'm not sure which belt operates the power steering as there are 2 belts next to each other. I can half twist one of the belts with my thumb and index finger which people have said is the right tension, while the other belt i could barely twist it at all, maybe too tight? also noticed the belt isn't sitting on the center of the pulley? its like to the side if you know what i mean, But my problem is I cant find a way to loosing tension on the second belt.. the first belt with tension adjuster and bolt loose i could move it higher or lower to tighten or loosen belt, as with the second one i have no clue where to find the bolts to loosen them.. Can anyone give me real good instructions as to where it is? maybe pictures too? will give 10 points to best answer :) thanks

Loosen the alternator support nut and the adjuster lock bolt. Rotate the adjuster bolt counterclockwise, releasing tension on the alternator belt. Remove the belt. To remove the power steering belt, loosen the adjusting bolt and the fixed bolt in the slider bracket. Push the pump inward to loosen the tension on the belt. Remove the belt. To remove the air conditioning belt, push the tensioner pulley away from the belt, then lift the belt off the pulleys. id say the one u can move with ur thumb is too loose my opinion. but remember new belts do stretch as they break in so will need the tension readjusted shortly after a few miles. ull need a pry bar or something to put pressure back on the pump as u tighten it. it will take quite a bit of pressure. the one that is not aligned correctly ethier wasnt installed correctly or was loose but depending how long it has road like that it may have made grooves so it will go straight back like that after engine is running again so i suggest replace it. There are two types of tension pulleys. On is basically a really long bolt and the other is spring operated. All you have to do is realign the belt and tighten the belt. For correct tension you need to know the measurement of deflection for your particular make and model of vehicle.

returning recently bought used vehicle from a dealer? i just bought a used 2009 mitsubishi outlander last friday and found out it was a rental car. i checked the car (i could have checked it before the purchase! i was so dumb i trusted them too much considering their BIG name) and i found dusts (as thick as you can imagine) everywhere even underneath the seats and inside compartments and hidden areas. looks like the car has been to the outback for months and not well taken care of. the previous owner (car rental) has its own service centre and the maintenance of the vehicle is not clearly stated. can i return the vehicle to the dealer? or demand an exchange at least? i forgot to mention the odometer reads almost 70K for two years of use from the previous owner. car insurance.

Jaguar . How to Install Brakes on a Dodge Ram 2500

The brake assembly on a Dodge Ram 2500 full-size truck is comprised of multiple parts. The brake pads are within the caliper, which is mounted on a bracket connected to the brake disc that is installed on the axle rotor. If you need to install any parts on the brake assembly, it goes in this order: Brake disc, hub and bearing assembly, caliper mounting bracket and caliper with brake pads installed within. If you are immediately replacing any parts, you must remove the old ones first.
Difficulty:Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
Jack stands
Lug nut wrench
Brake disc
Wrench
Hub and bearing assembly with nuts and cotter pin
Brake caliper mounting bracket
C-clamp
Brake pads
Brake caliper
Brake fluid
Clear tubing

Step by Step :
1
Raise and support one full end of the Ram truck on jack stands - either the front or rear end. Make sure the parking brake is applied and remove the wheels. Loosening the lug nuts before raising the truck will make wheel removal easier.
2
Install a brake disc on the rotor that has been smoothly finished, making sure it is at least as thick as the minimum thickness that is cast along the edge of the disc. Measure this thickness with a micrometer, wipe any glaze off the disc with sandpaper or an emory cloth and then bolt the disc to the hub.
3
Connect the hub and bearing assembly to the disc. Insert the axle shaft into the axle housing and attach the brake dust shield to the steering knuckle. Place the hub bearing on the steering knuckle and axle shaft and tighten the bearing-to-knuckle bolts to 125 foot-pounds. Install the axleshaft washer and nut to 263 foot-pounds, line the nut up with the next cotter pin hole and install a cotter pin in that hole
4
Attach the caliper mounting bracket to the disc, tightening its retaining bolts to 250 foot-pounds for front brakes and 145 for rear brakes. If the Ram is older than a 2005 model, tighten the front bracket bolts to 210 foot pounds.
5
Insert fresh brake pads into the brake caliper, starting with the inner pads and then the outer ones, making sure the pads are seated in their grooves and retaining clips. If the caliper piston isn't completely within its bore, compress it with a C-clamp before installing the pads.
6
Place the caliper on its mounting bracket and tighten its bolts to 24 foot-pounds for front brakes and 22 for rear brakes (on a Ram 2500 older than 2005, tighten the rear caliper bolts to 24 foot-pounds). Connect the brake hose to the caliper and tighten the banjo bolt to 30 foot pounds.
7
Fill the brake master cylinder with brake fluid after all new brakes are installed and bleed the system. Loosen the caliper's bleeder screw, place a length of clear tubing on the screw fitting, and place the tube's other end in a container of fluid. Open the bleeder screw while another person presses the brake pedal until no more air bubbles leave the system.
Tips & Warnings
Removal of all brake components is the reversal of installing.

Install brakes two at a time at one end of the truck. Never install one brake assembly alone.

Jaguar . How to Change Your Brake Calipers

This is just one step further from changing your brakes and rotors. Some people will charge an ungodly sum to change calipers and brakes, so knowing how to do it yourself will save you a lot of money.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Jack and lug wrench
Caliper socket (star, hex, metric, or ASE- depending on your vehicle)
Ratchet & Socket Set

Step by Step :
1
First, use the jack to lift your car and remove the tire on the side of the bad caliper. Remember to break the lug nuts free while the tire is on the ground so you don't waste time trying to get them off in the air. Also, use a jack stand or cement block to secure the vehicle and act as a back-up jack. This can save your life (or at least some fingers) if the jack fails. Put the lack stand or block under a part of the frame that is less than 1/2 inch from it to the stand. You can then slowly lower the car onto the stand and then secure the jack even with the stand. This way you have two mechanisms that have to fail if the car is going to fall. Its also a good idea to give the car a little shake once it is in the air.
2
Once you have the tire off, remove the brake caliper from your rotors. This requires removing two bolts on the rear of the caliper. One is located toward the top and one toward the bottom and they sometimes have a plastic cover over them. The socket or wrench you will need depends on the vehicle make and model, so call your auto-parts store to find the right one for your vehicle. Once those two bolts are out, find the bolt that the brake line itself goes into. This will be the only other bolt holding the caliper to the car. This is what's called a banjo bolt, meaning that it is a bolt with a hole in it to allow the brake fluid to flow through it. DO NOT break this bolt! It can be nearly impossible to find cheaply. There is a bronze washer underneath of this bolt. The new caliper usually comes with a new washer, so remember to replace it. Make sure that there is only one washer on the bolt when you put it back on, though, or it will leak. Once that bolt is removed, you can slide the caliper off the rotor and put a new one on. Unless you have new brake shoes, don't forget to take them off the old caliper and put them on the new one. If you're changing your rotors as well, go ahead and slide it off and replace it.
3
The new caliper goes on pretty easily. Its simply a reversal of the last step, replacing the brake pads and sliding the caliper and pads back over the rotor. Then replace the new caliper bolts and the banjo bolt. TA-DA, your new caliper is on! Now the only things left to do are to bleed the brakes, put the tire back on, and lower the car.
4
Bleeding the brakes is a two person job. One person has to push the brake petal while you loosen and tighten the bleeder bolt. The bleeder bolt looks like a small nipple with a hole in the center and has a flat area around it for your wrench. Most bleeders are around an 8mm or 10mm. Have the person in the car start pumping the brakes as you loosen the bleeder. Brake fluid should start spitting out. When the fluid shoots out as a solid stream, tell them to hold the brakes to the floor as you tighten the bleeder. Then have them pump the brakes to test their resistance. Continue this process until the brakes feel like they should: Starting to grab as you hit the petal and showing enough resistance to stop the car. The petal should NEVER hit the floor. If it does, continue bleeding until it doesn't. You can take a minute while the person in the car is hitting the petal to examine your lines for any leaks. They should be easy to spot, but take special care in making sure it doesn't leak around the banjo bolt.
5
Once the brakes feel normal, you can put the tire back on and lower the vehicle. Tighten the lug nuts as much as possible while the car is in the air, lift the jack just a bit to remove the stand, and lower the vehicle. Now make sure that all your lug nuts are tightened! On a passenger car, they usually take about 80 or 100 foot pounds of pressure. If you have a torque wrench, use it. If not, go in a figure-eight pattern, tightening lug nuts until you can't get them to go any further with your arms. Now you're done! Either continue with the other side or put your tools away!
Tips & Warnings
Safety first! Always make sure your vehicle is secure in the air with a jack and jack stand or cement block!

Make sure you have all of your tools in order before you start! Once you get the tire off its just that much more work to go and get a tool...

DO NOT forget to bleed your brakes! If you don't bleed them, air can build up in the line and you won't be able to stop the vehicle.

immediate action to correct it: v* Do you smell rubber burning under the hood? One of your hoses may have come loose and landed on a hot part of the engine. Rescue it before it melts through. v0 Do you smell burned rubber with the hood closed? Feel your wheels. If one is hot, a brake shoe may be dragging, or you may have left the parking brake on. If neither of these checks out, an overheated clutch may be the cause. Chapter 20: Troubleshooting Leaks, Squeaks, Smells, and Strange Sensations A 2 7 i«* Do you smell oil burning? (It has a thick, acrid odor.) First check the oil dipstick by following the directions in Chapter 3. Your oil pressure gauge may be lying, and you may be out of oil. Or your engine may be overheating, and your temperature gauge may be broken. If neither is the case, look around the engine for an oil leak that may be frying in the heat of the running engine. If the oil situation seems to be okay, check the transmission fluid dipstick. Sometimes a faulty vacuum modulator can siphon the fluid out of the transmission and feed it to the engine, where it's burned. Also, if the transmission fluid is very low, it can be burned in the transmission because the gears aren't lubricated enough and are getting very hot. V Do you smell oil or exhaust fumes in the passenger compartment? The cause could be burned oil from the engine area — but it could also be a faulty exhaust pipe under the car that lets exhaust gases get into the vehicle through the floorboards. Exhaust fumes are full of carbon monoxide, so if you smell oil or exhaust in the car, be sure to keep your windows open at all times and have the problem checked out as quickly as you can. We've all heard stories about people who have died on the highway from carbon monoxide or from passing out at the wheel because of it. Such stories are true. W Do you smell something sweet and steamy? Take a look at the temperature gauge or light on your dashboard to see whether your car is overheating. Chapter 14 tells you how to cool things down. v* Do you smell rotten eggs? The smell is probably coming from the catalytic converter, which is part of the exhaust system. The converter may be malfunctioning, or you may have a problem with your engine. C Do you smell burned toast (a light, sharp odor)? Unless you've brought breakfast with you, it may be an electrical short circuit, or the insulation on a wire may be burning. Check around under the hood. Driving is a bit risky, so either get to the nearest garage or have a technician come to you. 932 Car Insurance cadillac catera 1997 sedan4d 13940

V* Do you smell gasoline? If you just had trouble starting the car, the engine may be flooded. Wait a few minutes and try again. If the smell comes from under the hood area, check your fuel injection system or carburetor to make sure that it isn't leaking fuel. Also check your fuel pump. The gasoline will wash a clean streak across it, which can be seen with the naked eye. Then check for leaks down the fuel line all the way to the fuel tank. Also, check all the fuel lines and hoses. If they've rotted or are disconnected, you'll smell fuel vapors without seeing any leaks. Taking a look under the vehicle after it's been parked overnight may help, but remember that fuel evaporates quickly, so the clues may be stains rather than wet spots. Obviously, you don't want to smoke while you're doing this! But then you never want to smoke when you're working on your car. ft Off Part IV: Dealing with On-the-Road Emergencies Gasoline ignites easily, and gasoline vapors can explode, so if you smell gasoline — and you didn't just fill your tank — find the source of the leak and have it repaired immediately. If your usual repair facility isn't close by, either drive to the closest garage and have them repair it, or call your auto club and have them deal with the leak by either fixing it on the spot or towing the vehicle to a repair facility. Smoke If you see smoke coming from your tailpipe, pay attention to the color for clues to what the problem is: If you see white vapor on a cold morning, disregard it if it stops after the car warms up. If it continues after the car is warm, a cracked engine block or cylinder head or a leaky head gasket may be letting water into the engine. You'll need professional help with this one. If you see black smoke and you have a carburetor, the fuel/air mixture may need to be adjusted to a leaner setting. You can find information about adjusting it in Chapter 13. Black smoke from a vehicle with fuel injection usually requires special diagnosis and should be left to a repair facility. You can check to see whether the fuel/air mixture is too rich by running your finger around the inside edge of the tailpipe (first make sure that it's not hot). If carbon comes off on your finger, the mixture is probably too rich.

Jaguar . How do you get to the door speaker in a 97 s10?

You must remove the door panel. The large majority of the panel is held in by plastic pins on the inside that you can just snap... Chevrolet G-Series G10.
*
If the smoke is light or dark blue, the vehicle is burning oil, which can indicate that oil is leaking into the combustion chambers and you either need your piston rings replaced or your engine rebuilt or replaced. Remedying this situation usually costs at least $1,000. But it may simply mean that the oil hasn't been changed and has gotten so low and cruddy that it's smoking. If this is the case — and you're the one responsible — shame on you! Chapter 15 tells you how to change your oil quickly and easily. If the smoke is light gray, the car may be burning automatic transmission fluid. Check the transmission dipstick. Is the fluid dark and burned-looking? Does it smell burned? With luck, you may just need to change the fluid. A faulty vacuum modulator can also suck transmission fluid into the engine, where it's burned in the cylinders and causes the same type of smoke to come out of the tailpipe. You can usually replace the vacuum modulator quite cheaply. Or the smoke may mean that your transmission is going out. Chapter 20: Troubleshooting Leaks, Squeaks, Smells, and Strange Sensations Being low on transmission fluid can cause the same symptoms as a transmission that needs servicing, repair, or replacement. To avoid paying for work that your vehicle may not need, be sure to read Chapter 17 before you see a specialist. Leaks Pay close attention to leaks. Running a vehicle that's drastically low on vital liquid can ruin your engine. After you find the source of the leak, the following information will help you decide whether you can handle it yourself or you need professional help. If water is getting inside your vehicle, check the rubber gaskets and weather-stripping around the windows, doors, and sunroof, and refer to Chapter 24 for instructions on how to fix it. Here's an easy way to see whether anything is leaking out from under your vehicle, and a few pointers to help you decide what to do about it:

1. Park your vehicle overnight on a clean patch of pavement or a large, clean piece of white paper. Either tape some sheets of paper together or buy a roll of plain white commercial wrapping paper. Newspaper is too absorbent and can change the color of the stains. 2.
